Two Arizona men face charges of possession of drugs and stolen property after Murrieta Police Department officers responded to the report of suspicious persons at a local shopping center, authorities said.

Police responded about 8:47 p.m. Tuesday to a report of suspicious persons at a commercial center in the 39800 block of Alta Murrieta Road. Two adult males and two females were contacted. The females said they were brought to the location against their will. The men were identified as Rajeev Kumaraswamy and Gilbert Hernandez, and a records check was performed.

The check showed that Hernandez had several prior arrests in Arizona for auto theft, firearms offenses and narcotic-related offenses. A police dog was brought in to conduct a search of the vehicle for narcotics.

Police dog "Kazan" found evidence of narcotics in the vehicle. Officers located methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia and expensive tools not belonging to either of the suspects or the two females. It was determined that the tools were taken the previous night during a vehicle burglary in El Centro.

The two men were arrested on multiple charges. It was determined the females were not taken to the location against their will and they were released at the scene.
