Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Mesa High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's honorees from Murrieta Mesa:

Junior Tyler Fraschetti is the most improved player on the boys golf team, said coach Terry Kim.

Swimmer Mateo Saldana's "pickup speed and effort in practice has shown that hard work does pay off with his big drops in the 500 Freestyle at the last two meets," said coach Jennifer Beech.

Representing the girls swim team is Grace Bristow "for being willing to go outside of the box and try an event that is not usually her normal one to do," said Beech.

Lacrosse player Bryana Jaime was selected on the basis of strong play against Norco (one goal) and Hemet (two goals). "She plays low attack and is a junior," said coach Molly Sovacool. "She has a very strong re-defend. Bryana has kept a positive attitude and is a hard worker."

Caitlyn Dawson of the girls track team set the school record in the shot put recently "and has been constantly improving," said coach Aaron Ballou. "Her hard work and dedication has paid off. As a freshman, she will do some great things in the future."

Aris Valerio
of the boys track team has broken the sophomore record in the 800 and has been the anchor on the 4x400 relay team. "He has a fearless mentality and has continued to improve the entire season," Ballou said.
