A French Valley man was booked for possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of stolen property after he was found in a Temecula neighborhood Friday.

Anthony Means, 31, was identified as the suspect who allegedly was looking inside parked vehicles in the 28900 block of Newport Road in Temecula about 1 a.m. A witness reported seeing the man enter a vehicle and drive away at a high rate of speed just before officers arrived, according to a new release.

Officers found the vehicle parked near some businesses in the 40600 block of Winchester Road in Temecula. The suspect was found walking away from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed ammunition and a stolen laptop computer. Also, Means allegedly hid a semi-automatic handgun beneath a bush near the vehicle.
