Murrieta Police officers arrested a transient who is suspected of stealing a man's wallet inside a local business and making several purchases with it, authorities said.

Mike Reider, 43, was located with a second male at a gas station on Rancho California Road in Temecula, based on information from security video and employee statements at a business in the 26000 block of Jefferson Avenue in Murrieta, where the victim said a suspect had stolen his wallet about 4:30 p.m. on May 26. Reider was in possession of the victim's credit cards and was found to be on formal probation for robbery. He also had prior narcotics related convictions.

Murrieta Police officers made the arrest in Temecula, where Sheriff's deputies had detained the suspect. Reider was booked for commercial burglary, violation of probation and fraudulent use of stolen credit cards. The second male, who was found to be on mandatory supervision probation for vehicle theft, was arrested by Sheriff's deputies on narcotics related charges.

The victim reported that according to his bank, his credit cards had been used at several places in Temecula.
