A Mt. San Jacinto College student from Murrieta recently received third place in a film directing competition for his film on suicide prevention.

AJ De La Cruz won the Directing Change Award in the statewide Directing Change Program and Student Film Contest. His film is titled "Timeless".

The awards program was held May 4 at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside. It is organized by Each Mind Matters, California's Mental Health Movement. De La Cruz won in the Youth and Young Adult Suicide Prevention category.
