The Rotary Club of Murrieta is accepting nominations of military personnel to be honored in the Murrieta Field of Honor Nov. 4-11.
Continuing what has become tradition at Memorial Day and Veterans' Day, the Field of Honor will feature full-size American flags representing local "heroes" in Town Square Park. Those heroes will be recognized in the months leading up to the display as well as at a veterans' luncheon Nov. 6 and during the Patriots Ball, which concludes the Field of Honor recognition on Nov. 11.
The Rotary Club defines a hero as "a person (or group) who in the face of danger or adversity or from a position of weakness displays courage or self-sacrifice for the greater good."
Honorees must be 18 or older and a resident of Riverside County. To nominate a hero, send a picture, a short biography and a few sentences on why that person should be selected. Include contact information for the hero and you in an email to MurrietaRotary@gmail.com or by private message to Murrieta Rotary's Facebook page.
Hero selections will be made by a committee of Murrieta Rotary members. For more information, contact Linda Dozier at MurrietaRotary@gmail.com.
