Three suspects arrested on drug, burglary tool charges

Murrieta Police arrested three Hemet residents on burglary and drug charges Monday following a traffic stop in the city, authorities said.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at 11:03 p.m. in a parking lot in the 25100 block of Madison Avenue, according to a news release. A records check of three occupants of the vehicle revealed a criminal past for each.

Jonathan Perez, 30, was previously arrested by Murrieta Police after being found in possession of items stolen from a parked car. Josephine Pantoja, 29. had two misdemeanor warrants and was on probation for possession of a stolen vehicle and other crimes. Amberlyn Bergine, 35, was on probation for vehicle theft and had previous convictions for other crimes.

During a check of the vehicle, officers found methamphetamine and modified keys used to commit vehicle theft. Narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia was found in Bergine's purse. All three were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
