Murrieta 24/7 honors area high school athletes for their accomplishments. Coaches of each sport are invited to submit one athlete per week for recognition. Here are this week's Athletes of the Week at Vista Murrieta High School:

Imari Cooley (left) had two big performances the first week of February for the girls basketball team. She scored 16 points in a 66-30 victory over Murrieta Mesa, making 8 of 10 shots in only 16 minutes of playing time. In her next game against Chaparral, she finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds, making 14 of 19 shots while playing just 18 minutes. The Broncos finished the regular season 10-0 and are 23-2 overall.

Boys soccer player Andy Zazueta is a senior attacking midfielder and team captain. "He is basically our workhorse on the field and is constantly abused by opposing teams," said coach John Hanson. "Although he might not be a leading scorer, his presence on the field calms the team and helps lead the attack." The Broncos finished the regular season with a 16-3-7 overall record.

Girls soccer player Madi Milby (right) had a goal and an assist in two wins, playing great defense and and offense in a 3-1 win over Murrieta Mesa and 4-1 victory over Chaparral. The team is 11-5-3 overall.
