Murrieta 24/7 honors area high school athletes for their accomplishments. Coaches of each sport are invited to submit athletes for recognition. Here are this week's Athletes of the Week at Vista Murrieta High School:

Girls soccer player Kiana Dualan (left) scored both goals in a 2-1 overtime victory over San Clemente in the CIF playoffs Feb. 15, including the sudden victory goal with a minute left in the first overtime. "She made a great move with her back to the goal, spinning around her defender and chipping the goalkeeper," said coach Ryan Heise.

Sophomore boys soccer goalkeeper Isaiah Thomas made two crucial saves in the penalty kick round of a first-round CIF playoff game against Nogales, helping lead the team to a 6-5 victory. "He has been stellar all season long, even more so in CIF," said coach John Hanson.

Senior girls basketball player Keiara Barton (right) has been a vital member of the team for the last two seasons, and she especially came up big in a first-round playoff victory against Canyon Springs. "In a game we comfortably won 70-47, Keiara had 12 important points off the bench for us, including knocking down a pair of critical three-point baskets," said coach Kurt Ruth. "Although she only had 2 points in our second-round win against Fairmont Prep by a score of 57-47, she played her usual stellar defense and played turnover-free basketball for us as well.

"Keiara is an extremely unselfish player and a great teammate both on and off the court, and we are extremely fortunate to have her on our side. We will need her to play another quality game for us on Wednesday as we prepare to host top-seeded Chaminade."
