Murrieta 24/7 honors area high school athletes for their accomplishments. Coaches of each sport are invited to submit athletes for recognition. Here are this week's Athletes of the Week at Murrieta Mesa High School:

Second baseman Riley McDonald went 4 for 8 last week with 3 doubles, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored for the baseball team.

Mateo Saldana contributed to the boys swim team's win over Chaparral April 18 with strong performances in the 100 freestyle ane 400 freestyle relay. He helped the Rams fight back from a four-point deficit to win the meet by 2 points.

Grace Bristow of the girls swim team had her best performances in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke at the Chino Hills Invitational.

Pitcher Autumn Pease posted back to back shutouts for the softball team last week. She struck out 13 in one game.

Girls lacrosse player Sara Watts (right) is a versatile player, said coach Molly Sovacool. "Sara has a a beautiful left hand that is near impossible to slow down. Her skills from tennis transfer directly over to lacrosse, thus making her a difficult player to take off the field. She is an academic/athletic all-star who is only a junior. She currently has 21 goals this season with three assists."

Boys lacrosse player Nick Whittall is leading the team with 83 points (60 goals and 23 assists). He is on pace to break the school single-season scoring record.
