Two northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway were re-opened about 2 p.m. Thursday following a multi-vehicle accident that briefly forced full closure in that direction, authorities said.

The accident, which occurred south of Temecula Parkway at 11:52 a.m., involved a big rig that was over the side of the freeway and six other vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol. Four injuries were initially reported, the extent of which are unknown.

According to the CHP report, a big rig went across all lines, collided with other vehicles and went over the side of the freeway. All northbound lanes were originally closed and traffic diverted at Rainbow Valley Boulevard. Lanes 3 and 4 were re-opened about 2 p.m. but lanes 1 and 2 remained closed until further notice.
