The Tenaja fire acreage was adjusted to 1,940 acres and was listed as 90 percent contained on Monday, officials said.

All evacuation orders have been lifted and residents were escorted back to their homes Friday night as containment of the Tenaja Fire in La Cresta increased slightly, authorities said.

The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in the hills west of Murrieta. Several streets originally were evacuated, but CHP officers escorted residents back up the hill on Clinton Keith Road Friday night. There are no more road closures.

Full containment of the fire is expected on Sept. 13. There have been three injuries to firefighters, none life-threatening. Two structures have been damaged but none destroyed.
