A 14-year-old boy was killed and a woman received major injuries Wednesday night in a single-vehicle accident on the 215 Freeway near Los Alamos Road that appears to be alcohol-related, authorities said.

The accident occurred at 8:35 p.m. on the southbound freeway, according to a CHP news release. A 1998 Toyota 4Runner was traveling in the No. 2 lane when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over numerous times. A male juvenile riding in the front passenger seat was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected, suffering fatal injuries.

A 16-year-old female in the right rear passenger seat was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. The driver, a 39-year-old female from Temecula, was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for felony DUI, vehicular manslaughter and child endangerment. She is being treated for major injuries at Inland Valley Medical Center and will be booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
