One person died and two others received major injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the northbound 15 Freeway just north of Rainbow Valley Boulevard today, authorities said.

The accident was reported at 7:14 a.m., according to a California Highway Patrol news release. A 1993 Honda Civic carrying a driver and two passengers was driving approximately 70 mph in the No. 1 lane when the driver made an unsafe turning movement, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. It headed into the center divider and rolled over. None of the occupants were wearing seat belts.

The vehicle came to rest on its roof  in the center divider. The right front passenger, a 29-year-old female from Ontario, was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 29-year-old male from Upland, was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries, along with a 45-year-old female from Covina.

The identities of the occupants of the vehicle have not been released. The CHP Temecula area office is conducting the investigation. Motorists are reminded to always wear seat belts.
